Power Yoga is a practice about breathing and moving our bodies as a means to quiet our minds. As we deepen our breath we are able to move closer to the edge of our comfort zone without restriction. In a power yoga class we challenge our physical limits and explore our mental limitations, breaking through into new possibilities. Beyond increasing your stability and core strength, we believe these classes help us connect to our center, leaving us feeling more like ourselves. When we are able to let go and flow with what may come, we flow without resistance on our mat and in our lives.
Our Intro into Power classes are powerful, learning experiences in which you will re-vitalize your body, find out what it is capable of, and how it works.
All basics classes are designed to give you the time to help you master form, understand how to breathe, help you build confidence in the postures and experience the wonders of Yoga. This class is conducted at a more relaxed pace where students are encouraged to ask questions. This Iyengar inspired basics class is where poses are held longer and the use of props are encouraged. Ideal for anyone!
This class is a more disciplined practice that focuses on breath, posture and alignment. We will explore the traditional asanas of Yoga, with calming breathing techniques and a meditative aspect, helping give students the opportunity to dive a little deeper. Each of the postures in this set sequence prepares the body for the next, allowing the students to gain strength, flexibility, and balance. Very similar to a Primary Level Ashtanga Class. * Suitable for strong beginners.
Veda Power 1 is comfortable for all levels of practitioners, incorporating breath and flow. Moving at a slower rate, students can look forward to building different variations of the poses.
Veda Power 2 is a step above Veda 1. This class is geared towards introducing more dynamic and intermediate poses to the practice. A faster flow is incorporated, allowing the poses to evolve with breath and movement and to create more of a challenge.
Veda Power 3 is where you will expand on your strength and stamina as you build into more advanced postures (inversions, backbends, and arm-balances) multiple times throughout the class. You will still get a great flow, we are just kicking it up a knotch! *10 classes of Flow Level 1/2 or 6 months of Yoga experience recommended.
Kids Yoga is a fun, creative approach to yoga that can be very helpful for children whose bodies are still developing. The use of animated poses and basic stretching exercises promote strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. Breathing and visualization techniques teach kids how to focus, relax and develop self-control.
Kids will improve concentration and focus, stimulate their imagination and help to release energy in a fun, safe environment. Using interactive games and animated postures, kids learn about animals, nature and basic anatomy through playing yoga.
